Frequently Asked Questions…

  1. How much are our lessons? You can find this information on the ‘Services’ part of our website. We offer discounted prices for 2 and 3 kids enrolled - please check it out.

  2. Do we teach at a studio, or at the student's home? At the moment, we don't have a studio as such, but we do have tutors who teach from their home, and we have tutors who can travel to you. You can reach out to us to let us know your preference, we can work out a good arrangement!

  3. Duration of classes: We recommend 30min classes for beginners, and we can bump up to 45mins for more advanced students.

  4. What do we do during the classes: We teach from a variety of piano books (Alfred's, Bastien and Piano Adventures), as well as work on scales, and extra pieces that the student may be interested in. We also work on sightreading, aural practice and theory throughout the lessons.

  5. Do we prepare for exams: Yes we do! We teach for fun and can prepare students for AMEB exams.

  6. Do we take a break during the holidays: If the tutor OR student has plans for the holiday or is away, then lessons don't continue, however if the tutor AND student can continue, then lessons can go ahead as per usual. We’re flexible.

  7. What happens if a lesson gets cancelled: if we get at least 5hrs notice prior to the lesson from the parent, or the tutor cancels a lesson, then the lesson won't get charged and a makeup lesson will be offered IF POSSIBLE. If the lesson is cancelled within 5hrs by the parent, the lesson will get charged. This is a very generous cancellation policy compared to other music tutoring businesses who require at least 24hrs notice to avoid getting charged.

  8. Do we offer trial lessons? Yes we do, but they are charged as per our normal rate.

  9. What instruments do we currently offer? Piano, guitar and singing.

  10. Will I need an instrument at home? Yes! We highly recommend having an instrument at home to ensure daily practice and progress is made. We can provide some tips and guidance on what piano/electric keyboard to purchase, if you are stuck.
